RwandAir has suspended flights to Doha and Dubai until further notice, citing the evolving security situation in the Middle East.
The affected services include WB300 and WB303 to Doha, and WB304 and WB305 to Dubai.
The move temporarily cuts off two strategic Gulf routes that serve as key transit corridors for passengers traveling between Africa, Asia, and beyond. Doha and Dubai function as major global aviation hubs, and the suspension could disrupt onward connections for business travelers, cargo shipments, and members of the Rwandan diaspora.
While the airline has advised affected passengers to reschedule their tickets, it has not provided a timeline for when services may resume.
The Middle East remains a critical aviation market for African carriers, both for passenger traffic and cargo connectivity. Any prolonged disruption could affect transit volumes through Kigali, which Rwanda has been positioning as a growing regional hub.
Industry analysts note that airlines across Africa have historically adjusted routes in response to geopolitical instability, balancing safety concerns with commercial pressures.
Further updates are expected as the regional situation develops.
